KLT'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Kent Land Trust Foundation

KLT created the Kent Land Trust Foundation in 2001 as a separate affiliated entity in order to manage and maintain the integrity of an endowment. KLTF is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Two directors are KLT officers and KLT appoints the outside directors.

From a modest beginning KLTF has grown significantly through donations, bequests and prudent investment management. Each year KLTF contributes to the KLT operating budget following a “spending rule”, distributing 4% of the average value of its assets to KLT. KLTF directors believe this rate to be sustainable and consistent with maintaining the Foundation in perpetuity.

The Foundation’s main purpose is to support KLT’s operating budget. Ultimately directors hope its assets will grow to sufficient size to also assist the acquisition of conservation properties.
